VIOLIST
At a Glance
Robert keeps an active schedule as a string player (primarily violist) in the greater New York City area, where he has both led and participated in a plethora of high-velocity performance opportunities. In his work as a string player, Robert has been fortunate to work with several key figures in New York, ranging in contexts from jazz to musical theater. On viola/violin alone, Robert has shared the stage with Lalah Hathaway, Vince Mendoza, Ralph Lalama, John McDaniel, Melissa Errico, and Alice Ripley, just to name a few.
As a violist in several established larger ensembles, Robert has played with the Manhattan School of Music Philharmonia Orchestra, and from 2015 to 2020, Robert served as chief violist (and pianist) of the multi-award-winning NY-based string quartet Inspire With Strings.
As a string player, Robert has been privileged to perform at seminal venues throughout New York such as Neidorff-Karpati Hall (Manhattan School of Music), Lincoln Center, and the Riverside Church (all in New York, NY). For the first few years of his undergraduate degree, Robert studied viola privately under Todd Low— and, certainly, Robert garnered a large amount of professional ensemble experience at the university level both at MSM and at Hofstra.
